Settlement of diatom communities under metal stress: a case study of the Riou Mort river basin (Aveyron, France)

Résumé

Diatoms are cosmopolitan siliceous micro-algae, commonly used for water quality assessment. This study aims at identifying the effects of cadmium pollution on the colonization strategies of freshwater diatoms. Samples collected as biofilm settled allows us to characterize diatom community colonization under metal stress.
