One of the main causes of the decrease in the geographical distribution of salmon in our water streams was the construction of dams for the production of hydraulic energy or for navigation, for water supply of communities, tourism, protection against flood or for the stabilization of low-water channels. Particular systems have been developed in order to re-establish free circulation of fishes near the obstacles ; they can be associated to barriers or guiding barriers aimed at fordidding access to certain areas. In the field of piscicultural development, a necessary step is the free circulation of migratory fishes. But it is also necessary to have the technical means to rationally manage the stocks. With this in mind, the use of recorder tends to develop.
L'une des causes essentielles de la diminution de l'aire de répartition du saumon dans nos cours d'eau a été l'édification de barrages pour la production d'énergie hydraulique ou la navigation, pour l'alimentation en eau des agglomérations, le tourisme, la protection contre les crues ou la stabilisation du lit mineur. Des systèmes particuliers ont été mis au point afin de rétablir la libre circulation du poisson au niveau des obstacles ; ils peuvent être associés à des barrières d'arrêt ou de guidage destinés à interdire l'accès des poissons à certaines zones. En matière d'aménagement piscicole, assurer la libre circulation des poissons migrateurs représente une étape indispensable mais il convient également de se donner les moyens techniques pour conduire une gestion rationnelle des stocks. Dans cette optique, l'emploi des compteurs automatiques tend à se développer.
