MRI investigation of the multi-exponential T2 decay in fruit tissues

Résumé

MRI T2 measurements have been used in several studies to investigate vegetal cells [1]. As most biological tissues, plant tissues exhibit multi-exponential relaxation behavior which characterization is important for investigation of tissue microstructure. However, MRI T2 measurements are often limited by relatively poor noise-sensitivity data and their reliability depends on technical factors in the MRI sequence with a particular sensitivity to both the RF and the static field inhomogeneities. Finally, T2 quantification is affected by effects of diffusion of water molecules in the presence of imaging gradients and gradients generated by susceptibility inhomogeneities.
