Résumé

The paper provides a discussion of some relevant issues concerning the concept of multifunctionality and its application to the field of agriculture. The first section presents the positive approach of multifunctionality which refers to supply-side aspects of agricultural activities. The second section deals with the normative approach which supports the Model of European Agriculture. The last section presents some key elements for building an analytical framework bound to evaluate the multifunctional dimension of agricultural, public policies.
