Simulation agroforestry technical projects, on variable farm conditions in three french regions
Simulations de techniques agroforestières sur des projets d'exploitations agricoles de Languedoc, Auvergne et Picardie

A resource dynamics model has been built to predict the overall effect of agroforestry plantations development on livestock farms. Several land management scenarios were drawn up, according to agroforestry management projects defined on the basis of either (i) new tree plantations at wide spacing or (ii) silvopastoral respacing. A simulation was undertaken to model the impact of these scenarios on changes in pastoral and forestry resources, as well as in the use of land and the organisation of labour. The many objectives displayed according to the projects in relation to the perception of the role of trees in the farm enterprise and the indirect economic benefits sought by the farm households are discussed. An example of simulation of three contrasted scenarios on the same farm is commented.
Un modèle dynamique de ressources a été construit afin d'appréhender les conséquences du développement de plantations agroforestières sur des exploitations d'élevage. Quelques scénarios de gestion des surfaces ont été retenu intégrant des projets agroforestiers soit du type plantation à larges espacements sur prairies, soit du type éclaircie sylvo-pastoral dans des peuplements installés. La simulation montre l'impact de ces scénarios sur les modifications de ressources forestières et pastorales, sur l'utilisation des surfaces et l'organisation du travail. La diversité des projets et des objectifs visés par de tels scénarios par les exploitants agricoles est discutée, en fonction notamment de caractéristiques non spécifiquement marchandes.
